Write to your MP
Will you write to your MP to ask them to make tackling poverty a core priority ahead of the general election? Fill out our e-action below.
If you're a group, could you send postcards to your MP together?
Tackling poverty has to be a key issue at the next general election. With 1 in 5 people across the UK struggling against poverty, we urgently need change for our communities.
Our political leaders need to know that we want tackling and ultimately ending poverty to be one of the top priorities for the next government.
MPs have a part to play in making sure their party’s plans to tackle poverty are set out ahead of the election.
Send a letter to your MP asking them to make sure the next general election marks the beginning of the end for poverty in the UK.

Get your community involved – send postcards to your MP
The more people in their constituency that your MP hears from, the better. Could you get a group together to write and send postcards?
Order postcards to use with groups such as:
- Your faith community – e.g. church congregations and small groups
- Your foodbank volunteers
- Your drop in centre guests
- Your youth group
…Or any other group you can gather together.
