November Action Gathering: Can emergency responses to hardship help to end poverty?

Thursday 28th November 7-8pm
Zoom

We know that the winter months can put increased pressure on emergency responses to poverty, such as foodbanks and community meals. New services often open, such as night shelters and warm spaces. Despite being vitally necessary to so many people, often these services can feel like they are just providing a sticking plaster to longer term, underlying challenges that the cold weather exacerbates.

Can we deliver these services and the emergency support that people need in a way that works towards an end to poverty? What approaches or practices can we embed in our responses to ensure that we are building the foundations for a future where poverty can’t keep anyone down?

Join to listen in on a panel conversation between people involved in running winter night shelters, warm spaces and foodbanks. You'll get the chance to ask questions, and work together to explore how working together this winter we can work to end poverty, for good.
